Supporting Runs with Fun!

In our previous guise as D R Associates, we were delighted to sponsor The Lions Club of Bradford on Avon recent Fun Runs. Held on a rather wet Sunday in September there was an excellent turnout with 150 entrants for the 5km and 2km Fun Runs which started by the Tithe Barn in the town. 

The 2km Fun Run as always attracted the most participants with 119 entrants. It was also a walk, toddle or push with babies in buggies, people in wheelchairs and many enthusiastic families. Over 90 children were delighted to receive a medal on completing it together with a goody bag, fruit and refreshments. Trophies were awarded to winners in three age categories – the U12, U10 and U8.

There were also trophy and medal winners in the adult 5km Fun Run for the top three men and women as well as prizes for the ‘veterans’ (over 40)!

Kate Harris from The Lions Club said: “We’re delighted DR Associates supported our Fun Runs. Together with all the sponsors their sponsorship really helped us to stage an inclusive family event, as well as raise  over £700, with every penny going to support local good causes.”

The Bradford on Avon Lions Club has served the local community for over 50 years, helping good causes and charities that operate in Bradford on Avon and the surrounding areas of Holt, Monkton Farleigh, South Wraxall, Westwood and Winsley. 

“A lot of fun and excitement was had and we were really pleased to support our local Lions Club to provide a great family event whilst raising vital funds for our community,” added Claire Swain, Managing Director – Lerica Tax Accountants.
