New brand for longstanding Bradford on Avon tax accountants

There’s a new name in Bradford on Avon - Lerica Tax Accountants. Previously David Reed Associates and more recently DRA, it was 11 years ago that Managing Director Claire Swain, took an equal stake in the business and became a Director.

The only Chartered Tax Adviser in Bradford on Avon, Claire bought in from 25% to 50% shareholder finally becoming the sole shareholder in 2022. The firm originated in 1998 via Founder David Reed who fully retired from the business in 2021.

Claire takes up the story; “It was time for a new website and the team raised whether we should actually go for a full new corporate identity to reflect more of what we represent now. I wanted the name to reflect us all so we spent some time banding names about, which was a great team building exercise but we found nothing suited, until they suggested Lerica.

“It’s an anagram of my name so felt familiar and relevant but with no pre-existing connotations. We have evolved the name further to Lerica Tax Accountants to emphasise our tax expertise and the focus we have on providing specialist tax and accountancy services to businesses and individuals across Bradford on Avon, Bath and Wiltshire.”

Based on Frome Road in Bradford on Avon, the firm is well regarded for delivering exceptional client service. On the community side it sponsors Corsham RFC with Claire having been its Treasurer from 2013 - 2017. Lerica also fundraises for a different local charity each year and recently sponsored the local Fun Runs.

Claire adds; “For 11 years we’ve been putting our clients financial wellbeing at the centre of everything we do. We focus on planning ahead and creating a healthy financial future for our clients.”

Following an accountancy apprenticeship locally, Claire started training specifically in tax at PwC and later KPMG in Bristol before completing her Chartered Tax exams with Bath-based Target Chartered Accountants in 1998. She started her own business in 2009 as Quro Accountancy in Bristol which led to the merger with David Reed Associates in April 2013, following an introduction by a former colleague David Buchan.  She lives locally in Corsham with her two teenage sons.
